It’s alright if you’re asking yourself: “What’s a news aggregator?” It doesn’t sound like you need one, right? And I wouldn’t blame you if you thought it was an optional part for your car!
A news aggregator is a program that collects different sources of information (news, blog posts, podcasts, and more) and is also sometimes called a news reader, feed reader, or just a plain aggregator.
In my book, RSS for Educators, chapter 8 talks about how to use a news aggregator. You can now read this chapter for free through ISTE’s learning community.
Today, these are my favorite aggregators:
- NetNewsWire (Macintosh)
- Google Reader (web)
- Reeder (iPhone, iPad)
