I came across this idea today from Frank’s Blog to use a microblogging/status tool, similar to Twitter, to “tell a story.” The idea isn’t new, of course, it can be done with paper. But I think putting it online is a big improvement, as the collaboration happens in real time, before everyone’s eyes. And being able to write quickly is no doubt good practice in the fluency of writing.
Check out the specific example here.
Then I began thinking… Plurk is new to me. Not sure if it’s easy to get kids online. But… why couldn’t this be a chat activity inside Moodle? Sure, why not? English teachers? You could build students’ writing fluency skills by using a Moodle chat!
